We are excited to announce ‘Raga meets Symphony’ 2021 - an intensive course designed to develop a collaborative approach for working with western music, led by award winning composer Reena Esmail and Hindustani vocalist Saili Oak. The participants will learn new pieces and arrangements to perform with western musicians. Registration is now open.

About Shastra

Shastra fosters cross-cultural dialogue between the great musical traditions of India and the West.

Through our Dialogues Series concerts, our audiences experience the intersection points between Indian and Western classical music. Our biennial Shastra Symposium brings together excellent musicians, theorists and historians working in the cross-cultural space, to share ideas and exchange best practices. And our intensive workshops allow Indian and Western classical musicians to learn about each other’s traditions, and find new pathways into collaboration.

We welcome you to join the dialogue: attend an upcoming concert in your city, apply for one of our workshops or donate to help us keep the conversation going.
